Position description

We are seeking a motivated Junior and or Assistant Research Specialist to join Dr. Jean-Philippe Coppe's lab in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCSF. This position is focused on processing multi-modal, high-dimensional medical data and building therapy-resistant tumor models that incorporates multi-parametric functional kinome signatures, phospho-reactome networks, and molecular data. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for skill development and career growth in a cutting-edge research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform data preprocessing and integration of multi-modal datasets, including kinome signatures and kinase-substrate networks.

* Develop and implement deep learning models to analyze molecular data.

* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including radiation oncologists, data scientists, bioinformaticians, molecular and cell biologists, and biochemists.

* Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts and grant proposals.

* Present findings at lab meetings and contribute to the dissemination of research results.

* Maintain detailed documentation of research processes and results.

Qualifications:

* Applicants appointed at the Junior rank must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, bioengineering, or a related discipline.

* Applicants appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master's degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.

* Experience with natural language processing, deep learning and medical imaging analysis.

* Experience with programming languages such as Python, C, CUDA.

* Strong analytical skills and ability to work with multi-modal molecular data, especially results from advanced proteomic methods.

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
