IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Plumbing Project Designer 1 in our Scottsdale office. As a Plumbing Project Designer 1, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead designer forlow to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of largerand high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers
and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight ofplumbing systems for the vertical building industry. This position will be expected to work withinthe project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meetproject goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

* Lead design efforts for the analysis of plumbing, and fire protection systems. Utilizeengineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculationsaccording to code requirements and IMEG standards
* Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicatetechnical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professionalcommunication
* Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts inproject planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.

* Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress asrelated to percent complete and fee expended
* Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with senior engineersand consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
* Provide in-process design reviews of plumbing and fire protection system design, calculations, and specifications; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs andsolutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
* Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in plumbingengineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG

* Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safetyrisks associated with plumbing systems
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and projectmanagers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
* Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
* Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase

Required Skills/Abilities

* Functional expertise in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production oftechnical plans and specifications
* Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics,heat transfer and fluid mechanics as they relate to plumbing and fire protection design forbuildings
* Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
* Advanced proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools
* Mastery of code calculations for domestic water, waste, and vent systems
* Advanced knowledge of specialty plumbing systems (medical gas, laboratory gas, high rise,rainwater / grey water systems) as applicable based on team market focus
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oraland written communication to individuals or groups
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience
* Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
* Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
* ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred
* Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineeringpreferred
* 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consultingindustry
OR

* Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineeringpreferred
* ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred
* 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting orconstruction industry

Physical Requirements

* Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25pounds
* Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and graspor pull
* Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
