Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin, in conjunction with Integral Care, seeks a board certified/board eligible psychiatrist to serve as Associate Program Director of our General Psychiatric Residency Program and join our clinical faculty in Austin, Texas. Successful candidates will have a strong interest in graduate medical education and a desire to contribute to the development of clinical, educational and research initiatives that revolutionize how people get and stay mentally healthy in Central Texas and beyond. About the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Our department leads psychiatry education for the Dell Medical School and its post-graduate programs train mental health professionals to become 21st-century leaders in the fields of psychiatry and psychology. Clinical services provide culturally informed, evidence-based care for individuals and families in multiple general medical and specialty behavioral health settings with an active and strong presence in community settings. About the Position The Psychiatry Residency Program combines a rich history with the excitement of new collaborations and opportunities, built by energetic new faculty members and world class researchers engaging in bold new programs. Our current residency class trains twelve residents within each graduate class year. Residents rotate through a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings at UT Health Austin, Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, Ascension Seton Behavioral Health, Ascension Seton Shoal Creek, Dell Children's Medical Center, Austin State Hospital, and multiple local mental health community clinics. We seek candidates committed to providing exemplary care and treatment that restores hope and helps patients live healthier, fuller lives. The successful candidate's appointment within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences requires regular participation in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows in broad clinical settings.
