Duties and Responsibilities |
The Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, Department of Surgery seeks a Surgical Oncologist to join its Division of Surgical Oncology in the section of GI Surgical Oncology. Skill set should include minimally invasive approaches to GI malignancy, including hepato-pancreato-biliary and foregut malignancies. The candidate should also have a clinical interest in cytoreductive surgery/
HIPEC and the surgical management of soft tissue malignancies. The successful candidate will have completed an
ACGME approved Surgical Oncology fellowship and be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Oncology. The candidate must also demonstrate a dedication to clinical excellence, teaching, scholarly activity and institutional service. The position is based at Loyola but will also have a dual appointment at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. For the right candidate and skillset, we will consider a surgeon-scientist position. There are a range of areas within research to consider, but areas of interest include translational research, clinical trials, outcomes, and informatics. Credentials and experience should be consistent with an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The Hines VA Hospital 483 bed Veteran's Affairs Hospital that sits on 170 acres adjacent to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. This facility, faculty, and staff are dedicated to the high quality comprehensive care of our nation's veterans. This position also belongs to a team of general surgeons that care for veterans collaboratively. |
