PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Provides efficient courteous customer service to all people while performing duties of Laundry Operator.

2. Observes Universal Precautions at all times.

3. Follows quality assurance processes for ensure all textiles achieve and maintain a clean/hygienic state.

4. Must be able to work in both soiled and clean sides of the laundry plant operation.

5. Operates computer-controlled/computer-assisted feeding/folding machinery in accordance with the specific machine's operational procedures, safety procedures, and established hourly and shift production R/Es (Reasonable Expectations) for that machine and/or workstation.

6.Operates flatwork ironers to feed, iron, fold, and stack textiles in accordance with the specific machine's operational procedures, safety procedures, and established hourly and shift production R/Es (Reasonable Expectations) for that machine and/or workstation.

7. Adjusts ironer speed according to the textiles' moisture content and processing guidelines in order to achieve quality assurance goals as well as hourly and shift R/Es (Reasonable Expectations).

8. Have, or obtain within the probationary period, the sufficient knowledge of individual equipment to adjust parameters within proper operating and safety procedures for the piece of equipment.

9.Notifies supervision of any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or unusual problems which need immediate attention.

10.Loads and packs bulk and/or exchange carts in accordance with customer requirements, laundry operational procedures, safety procedures, and established hourly and shift production R/Es (Reasonable Expectations)

11. Performs housekeeping related duties necessary to maintain the laundry facility and equipment in an orderly and professional condition.

12. Operates computers to perform educational requirements through Net Learning.

13. Assists in the orientations and training of new employees.

1. Ability, dexterity, and physical capability to stand and/or walk on a solid, non-flexing surface for prolonged periods of time.

2. Ability to repetitively lift, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

3.Ability to push heavily loaded, caster equipped containers weighing up to 600 pounds.

1.Ability and willingness to work, as directed, at repetitive tasks in a light manufacturing, assembly line, and/or distribution center surroundings.

2. Ability and willingness to work in a varying temperature, varying humidity, varying noise level environment commonly found in light manufacturing facilities.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Skills necessary to operate computer-controlled/computer-assisted laundry equipment safely and within guidelines are preferred.

2. Math skills necessary to quickly and accurately count, inventory, load, and/or pack various textile items in multiple quantities are preferred.

Additional Job Description:

Afternoon shift 4pm to 12:30am. Rotating weekends and holidays. Every other Tuesday off.
