We are seeking a talented engineering leader for our New York Electrical Department to manage select projects while developing and growing a group that can execute large scale projects on a regional and national basis as well as collaborate enterprise wide.

Successful candidates for this opportunity will possess an entrepreneurial, collaborative, driven, and complex problem-solving spirit. The Snr. Electrical Engineer must be able to provide extensive technical expertise, serve as a resource to the staff, and support the sales efforts by establishing and maintaining client relationships. Key Responsibilities:

As a Snr. Electrical Engineer and Leader, you will be part of a dynamic and experienced team that drives innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction across all aspects of a project. The position is viewed as a leader, dynamic and entrepreneurial position that helps drive change, internally and externally, throughout the firm. The Snr. Electrical Engineer is an enterprise role responsible for not only their projects but for providing support to more junior staff and/ or project teams. As such, we actively share work and knowledge across all five of our offices and embrace an enterprise-wide mindset. This is a full-time, onsite role and qualifies for one day remote work.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Technical Leadership & Project Management:

  • Serve as engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for electrical engineering staff to use and abide by.

People Leadership & Management:

  • Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership.
  • Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff.
  • Serve as a technical resource and point of contact for the staff.
  • Utilize quality control reviews to reinforce technical lessons and company processes.
  • Provide input utilizing sound engineering principles.
  • Provide input on individual staff member performance, advancement, and potential.

Enterprise Leadership & Management:

  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors to drive on time and on budget completion of projects.
  • Review workforce projections and determine how they relate to staffing.
  • Drive ownership, accountability and culture through the company.
  • Interact with partners and executives on a regular basis to further the growth and quality agenda of the firm.
  • Provide marketing and business development support.
  • Identify potential business opportunities.
  • Work with the leadership team to develop fees on complex projects.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Grow the volume and footprint of the office market sectors.

Educations and Skills Requirements for this position include:

  • 10 plus years of experience in electrical/fire alarm design
  • Team supervisory experience
  • New York PE license
  • Bachelor's degree electrical engineering required from a 4-year accredited college or university.
  • Strong technical writing & software skills including Revit
  • Sound knowledge of building codes
  • Great interpersonal & communication skills
