Position Summary

This Digital Design and Communication Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and editing graphics and documentation for the purpose of position and informational distribution for the Long Beach Red Shield. Additionally, this position is responsible for the communication of information through multiple mediums, including but not limited to, websites, emails, text-messaging, social media, and verbally.

Essential Functions



  • Develop graphics and layouts on multiple mediums for distribution (this includes, but is not limited to, posters, catalogs, flyers, mailings, and digital graphics)
  • Edit content to be distributed through multiple portals of communication
  • Monitor communications on various digital platforms
  • Oversee a queueing method for content creation from multiple departments
  • Calendar projects and activities as assigned
  • Assist in the development of digital campaigns and projects as assigned
  • Take photos as required or assigned
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with various members of the community through phone or in person.
  • All other duties assigned within the scope of the position


PAY RANGE: $20.00-$22.00/HR

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years-experience within the field of graphic design, digital content creation, or digital communication
  • Background Check Required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be willing to work weekends or extended hours when required
  • A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures
  • Must be proficient in the development of social media content and software/tools related to the trade
  • Must be proficient in the development of graphics, design, and software/tools related to the trade

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written

Qualifications
Education
Associates (preferred)
Experience
Proficient in the development of graphics, design, and software/tools related to the trade (required)
Proficient in the development of social media content and software/tools related to the trade (required)
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (required)
Minimum of 2 years-experience within the field of graphic design, digital content creation, or digital communication (required)
