JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Addiction Smoking and Health Laboratory (Principal Investigator: Stephen Wilson, PhD) of the Department of Psychology is seeking a part-time research assistant to assist with the recruitment and retention of research participants for ongoing experiments. This is a part-time position that pays $17/hour.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience with developing and executing marketing/advertising strategies or related responsibilities (such as designing promotional materials, communicating with local businesses, etc.)
  • Candidates must be willing to perform duties (such as posting flyers) that require traveling across the University Park campus and throughout surrounding communities at their own expense (with reimbursement for mileage as applicable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently

Responsibilities:

  • This position will focus on assisting in the effort to recruit and retain research participants using a variety of strategies
  • Assist with the development of recruitment materials
  • Establish connections with local businesses to cultivate new opportunities for placement of recruitment materials
  • Develop and monitor traditional and digital advertising campaigns
  • Manage social media postings and engagement
  • Monitor and track website analytics and digital traffic
  • Contact participant to schedule and remind them of appointments
  • Post flyers throughout Penn State University Park campus and at multiple off-campus locations in surrounding areas
