Senior Project Engineer

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Position Location: Sacramento, CA

Position Salary: $70/HR - $100/HR (Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities:



  • Manage and lead Capital Projects for the facilities utilizing the project process from objectives development through commissioning.
  • Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will have ultimate responsibility for the safety, cost, and schedule of their assigned projects.
  • He or She shall have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to develop and maintain working relationships with key Stakeholders, and the capacity to handle and prioritize multiple complex tasks.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and EHSS resources for development of project scope and corresponding safety reviews.
  • Coordinate process mechanical, electrical, and civil design with in-house and contracted resources.
  • Develop equipment specifications, construction scopes of work, commissioning plans, and budgets.
  • Perform project financial analysis for economic justifications.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring milestone progress, coordinating activities/trades, and resolving problems through Stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain project budget by monitoring purchases, construction, and commissioning costs.
  • Manage daily construction activities and facilitate project start-up.
  • Maintain project design and commissioning documentation.
  • Support the site's Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safe and reliable operations.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar type degree, (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering will be considered); Higher Education is a plus
  • 10+ years' Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment working on electrical projects.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively: at all levels of the organization; both individually and within a team environment; both written and orally.
  • Chemical Manufacturing Process Experience in a PSM Covered facility is a plus.
  • Experience in Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) is a plus
  • Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, facilitating PHA's and PLC and Controls Troubleshooting experience are all preferred.
  • Ability to utilize data effectively for an objective assessment and adapt to evolving priorities based on business needs.



The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
