We are seeking candidates to work on an NIH RO1-funded project involving designing new microelectrodes for measuring neurotransmitters. The Venton Lab designs new techniques for measuring real-time changes in neurotransmitters. This project, in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Lab, will involve the design of microelectromechanical (MEMS) devices for implantation into the brain. The Postdoc will help design and fabricate new electrode designs, and test them using electrochemistry and surface techniques. Methods will be used such as 3D printing and nanofabrication. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry or a related field such as Engineering by the start date. Experience in electrochemistry and design of microdevices is preferred. Much of the fabrication of the designs with take place at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, TN.
