Industrial Engineer/Program Scheduler

The Program Scheduler will be responsible for implementing scheduling best practices for program planning. This position will be responsible for creating, executing, and monitoring a dynamic Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). This position will work closely within a team which includes program management, finance, inventory and technical. This position will facilitate movement of components within the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze an IMS for Kratos SRE Hypersonic Structures.
  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling of multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills
  • Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and brief potential schedule constraints.
  • Evaluate schedules and shares forecast assumptions and impacts to critical milestones with various customers.
  • Coordinate with internal and external machine shops, internal laboratories, business partners and vendors.
  • Track, receive, and move multiple components through the different phases of the process
  • De-conflict and setting priorities by working with leadership, engineers, machinist, and lab technicians.
  • Establish Earned Value Management (EVM) practices to support management decisions.


Other Job Functions:



  • Apply basic and advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, software and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization.
  • Work semi-independently with managerial guidance to accomplish tasks.
  • Develop a scheduling methodology for our unique business.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling and operational performance metrics.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by manager.
  • Experience in developing or maintaining resource-loaded schedules.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:



  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance at a level equivalent to Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET
  • Bacheloris degree in Industrial Engineering or other related business discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products, to include MS Project
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Very good interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Project management training
  • Production and Inventory Management training
  • Scheduling experience in the manufacturing, logistics, or service sector
  • Experience using Microsoft Power B


WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position involves work in an office and laboratory environment and could require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including:

Safety glasses

Hearing protection (varies based on tasks)

Composite toe safety shoes

Physical Demands

In performing the work for this position, the supervisor must be able to:

Work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.

Climb ladders and stairs in performing the work.

Walk for reasonable distances.

Lift/carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Travel:

Up to 10% may be required with occasional overnight stays.
