The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near-term need for a Technical/Programmatic SETA to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA.



Responsibilities

The candidate will support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program manager by participating in or leading all activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, and program-funded test coordination. As a Technical SETA in our fast-paced Strategic Technology Office (STO), you'll play a critical role in SPA's mission by assisting with the coordination of meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself. The candidate will apply technical research, development, and engineering experience across a breadth of DoD projects. The candidate will apply a demonstrated ability to learn new subjects and gain rapid insights into current and next-generation research topics, preferably with hands-on leadership of research programs at the performer level. Apply project/program management experience with a specific focus on management of key milestones and technical assessment of deliverables. The successful candidate will assist in generation of briefing materials and program documents. Some travel may be required to support performer and stakeholder engagements.



Qualifications

Required:

    BA/BS degree
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and possess excellent oral and writing skills
  • Self-starter and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Desired:

  • Prior experience working programs at DARPA as a technical and program management support contractor
  • Knowledge of DARPA processes and procedures

  • Demonstrated program management expertise, with over 5 years following program management best practices in a research environment, preferably as a project lead
