What You'll Do:

The Sales Service Center (SSC) provides support for increased sales-customer interaction, executes division pricing strategy, and provides opportunities to leverage logistics capabilities. Primary functions of the SSC include:



  • Relieving Sales Reps of non-selling tasks
  • Cataloging Market Intelligence
  • Assisting with price setting
  • Setting & confirming local pricing plan/strategy
  • Engaging opportunity prospecting
  • Fielding and developing quotes
  • Generating beneficial reports and analyses


The SSC Trainee Role will immerse you in aspects of each of these primary functions.



  • Learn SSC Fundamentals. Rotate through temporary assignments related to transactional support for billing processes, POA back-office administration, Sales Rep back-office administration, sales data analysis and prospecting.
  • Learn the Business. Grow foundational knowledge of Vulcan's primary Lines of Business and competitive landscape. Knowledge expansion to occur through key sales team support responsibilities, market visits, and analyst shadowing.
  • Develop Analytical Knowledge & Competencies. Develop advanced analytical capabilities with common business tools like MS Excel and Tableau along with internal applications like Oracle, APEX, SBFS and Pricing Tool.
  • Learn the Vulcan Way of Selling. Become familiar with the pillars of the Vulcan Way of Selling, how the Sales team processes are structured around it and the ways in which the SSC supports it.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Sales support and/or business analytics experience.

Interpersonal Skills. Must be an excellent motivator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with multiple internal department audiences.

Pricing Knowledge. Must be familiar with pricing and marketing principles and be able to support business planning efforts.

Technology Skills. Must display knowledge of and ability to use computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Tableau, etc.) and the most up to date sales systems (MOBILESales, APEX quote-to-cash, and Sales Analytics) to understand, measure, and capitalize on sales opportunities.
