Job Description

Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to join our stellar team! The Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales representatives, implementing sales training plan, sales budget and KPI's, and territory coverage plan that will map out how RW will increase market share and profitability in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.



  • Manage staff within the sales department to include planning and assigning projects/tasks to staff, make hiring decisions, separation/disciplinary recommendations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure staff development and coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Manage the operational activities within the Sales Department.
  • Develop, organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure achievement of Sales Department goals
  • Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance.
  • Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets.
  • Direct and prepare reports for Sales Department Senior leadership.
  • Participate in Company or Department projects.
  • Ensure employees and team are following all Company Policies
  • Works closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and Manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative.
  • Maintains a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Correspond with Vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently.
  • Responsible for achieving Raymond West market share goals for new equipment sales.
  • Responsible for assisting Salespersons in the development and implementation of a business plan.
  • Responsible for developing a yearly budget.
  • Responsible for interfacing with other departments to solve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Responsible for assisting in closing open truck proposals when needed.
  • Effectively communicate and interface with employees, customers, vendors, and other managers
  • Evaluate sales efforts and results in new equipment, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Support sales personnel both in-house and by making joint sales visits.
  • Resolve customer complaints where a solution cannot be achieved between a customer, a Sales Representative.
  • Work in conjunction with executive management, establish sales policies for the company.
  • Work in conjunction with executive management, determine sales territories for sales personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by executive leadership.


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent Management skills
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
  • Must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and CRM software
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.


Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position.



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university.
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience; One to two years sales management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Travel Requirement:



  • 20% (8 hours a week)
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

  • Outside sales management position with office time required

Pay Range:



  • The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 (Bonus earning potential is based on gross profit and market share). The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.


Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
