Job Description

Raymond West is looking for an Integrated Systems Sales Specialist. to join our team! The Storage and Automation Sales Specialist is responsible for providing a vital communication and sales link between our customers and our company to ensure continuing customer satisfaction.

Our customers are supported by our 1,300+ employees located in 21 West Coast offices and networked to Raymond sales and solution centers throughout North America. We offer industry-leading expertise in lift trucks, racking, conveyor, automation, dock and door, rentals, parts, and service. Our Storage & Automation Department is an important part of our growth and includes 150 staff members inclusive of sales, engineering, project management and installation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.



  • Primary focus will be sales of conveyor, automated storage systems and related products.
  • This is an Industrial sales position using a consultative, relationship-based approach.
  • We travel with our local customers that have facilities in other locations of North America.
  • Increase systems sales through account development and internal/external networking.
  • Leads provided by our manufacturing partners as well as our large internal team of Account Managers.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with our Account Manager sales team, Engineers, Project Managers, and other Raymond team members.
  • Achieve gross margins and profitability targets for systems sales as communicated by management.
  • Sell maintenance contracts where appropriate and as supported by our service organization.
  • Maintain an awareness of competition and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate and timely information used for managing the business, including status of leads, proposals, marketing data, competitive data, sales forecasts, and expenses.
  • Represent the Company to develop life-long relationships with our customers.


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Experience Selling conveyor and automated material handling systems with an understanding of the material handling industry.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial applications.
  • Ability to understand software and controls technology from a functionality and sales perspective.
  • Personal drive for success in a team-based sales environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as architectural and engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.
  • This position requires excellent customer service and an aptitude for analyzing and solving problems.
  • Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft office software to prepare proposals, presentations, and other documents along with some use of AutoCAD and ability to learn our other software applications for order entry and forecasting.


Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year College or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Travel Requirement:



  • The Travel requirement will vary depending on the current location of active customer projects, company meetings, vendor training and trade shows. The majority of travel will be within a 1 to 2-hour drive and further distances typically accomplished by air travel.
  • You will be assigned to support a group of local Account Managers and/or direct customer accounts. A majority of the customers will be located in that same geographical area, but we will travel with our customers to other locations in North America as needed.
  • On an average week, overnight travel is 10% to 20% of your time. A majority of the weeks will have no travel and then you may be required to travel for a day up to a week at a time.
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


Pay Range:



  • The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $125,000.
  • Plus, commission (average of $50k - $300k per year).


The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
