Overview: Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Senior Patient Safety Specialist will participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility patient safety program. The senior specialist will support Patient Safety Specialists in their work with patient care teams in achieving high quality and best possible outcomes and will serve as a subject matter expert in patient safety. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. In collaboration with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff the patient safety specialist will develop, implement, monitor and champion processes related to key patient safety issues. The Senior Patent Safety Specialist will model behaviors that embrace just culture, reporting, flexibility, and learning across the organization. The senior specialist will work directly with organizational leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to identify resources needed to support patient safety improvement projects. The Senior Patient Safety Specialist will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Performs other work duties as assigned.
