JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Engineering Services Office in the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is seeking a self-motivated, positive, customer service oriented and quality conscious Administrative Assistant to join our Facilities Operations & Maintenance team. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).

You will:

  • Answer phones and greet visitors

  • Assist with assigning, closing, and commenting on facilities work orders

  • Scan documents for purchasing and travel expense reconciliation

  • Update building door cores

  • Verify key inventory and records

  • Deliver items, such as paper, keys, etc., as requested

  • Assist Trades as requested

  • Assist in reorganization of computer shared folders

This position will be Part-Time.

Required skills and experience include:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Interest in learning job related software

  • Success in effectively working in an office environment that utilizes diverse communication and organizational skills

  • Professionalism with a high commitment to customer service

  • Ability to take initiative and effectively manage time, prioritize, and problem solve

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality

Preferred skills and experiences include:

  • SIMBA, Confluence, Workday, and SAP Concur

  • High School Diploma

  • Active government security clearance

Your working location will be fully on-site in State College, PA.
