Summary:

This position provides technical services, engineering support and project engineering functions to help resolve operational challenges and improve operating efficiencies of the pipeline systems. For the assigned assets, this position will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders such as control center, field operations and commercial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Review pipeline operations to identify efficiencies and provide technical support to Control Center, Field Operations and Commercial groups.

* Technical services and engineering support requires knowledge in design, operation, specification and maintenance of Rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, compressors), control valves, VFD's, Relief valves, sump systems. Isolation valves, measurement systems such as flow, density meters, Sampler systems.

* Perform hydraulic analysis to determine capacities, bottlenecks, and operating cost efficiencies and drag reducing agent (DRA) optimization. Recommend pump and dra configurations to meet customer needs.

* Support control center with the review of leak imbalance alarms and static leak check tests.

* Providing Engineering support such as determination of required hydrostatic test pressures, MOP/MAOP calculations, calculation of set points for pumps, compressors and other pressure control devices to ensure MOP/MAOP is not exceeded. Experience in Pipeline services such as Hydrostatic test design and project support, Nitrogen purge of pipeline systems.

* Providing support for regulatory audits with MOP, surge systems and design/operation queries.

* Develop utilities (power and DRA) annual budget for the assigned assets, reconcile the actual utility costs with the forecasts and provide technical basis for deviations. Monitor and optimize DRA use for assigned assets.

* Develop front-end project scopes, execution plans, estimates, and schedules to be used for project go/no-go decisions, submit project for approval. Perform constructability reviews, manage preconstruction coordination meetings when required.

* Review project scopes and ensure that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company's Engineering Guidelines, Codes & Standards, and Regulatory Agency requirements. Analyze and manage project risks such as minimizing operations and schedule risks.

* Participate in project work plan meetings for construction and commissioning of pipeline projects.

* Familiarity with applicable corporate, state, federal, API, and ASME standards and procedures for design and construction. Gain knowledge of other engineering disciplines such as instrumentation, PLC's, SCADA system operation, aboveground storage tank design.

Required skills:

* BS Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum).

* Knowledge of high pressure pipeline hydraulics and applicable industry codes and regulations for design, construction and operation of high pressure pipeline systems.

* Well versed in specifying, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing operating equipment utilized in pipeline and terminals including various types of centrifugal pumps, motors, valves, storage tanks, vapor recovery systems, loading racks, additive injection systems, provers, metering facilities, and PID devices.

* knowledge of operation and maintenance of pipelines and terminals.

* Demonstrated leadership ability and strong project coordination and management skills.

* Strong communications skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, engineering, and maintenance personnel required.

* Strong computer skills. Strong excel skills, hydraulics software such as pipeline studio, ProMax or other tools.

* Must be highly motivated, good team player, customer oriented and have an eagerness to learn outside of own discipline.

* 6-10 years of responsible engineering discipline experience, preferably in the pipeline discipline. The Staff Engineer level will be considered with 10+ years of relevant job-related experience.

* Travel required (~10%) as needed to support projects and other initiatives.

* Available to provide emergency support 24/7 including weekends and holidays as required.

* Usually, normal office working conditions.

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

* Occasional overnight travel may be required.

* Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
