Application Window Open date: October 4, 2024 Most recent review date: Saturday, Oct 19, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Apr 4, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description We are a molecular biology laboratory (www.hsiunglab.org) innovating at the forefront of CRISPR synthetic biology, gene regulation, functional genomics, and tissue biology. Some questions/challenges we are interested in include: 1. How do we engineer cells to turn genes on or off? 2. How do we explore numerous combinations of genetic perturbations in a scalable way? 3. How do we engineer immune recognition of cancer or tissue regeneration? We are looking for individuals who are interested in a primarily wet lab research role working on some of the above themes. Responsibilities may include: cloning, cell culture, working with mice, processing tissue samples, analysis of nucleic acids and/or proteins, scientific writing, organization of data appropriate to role in the lab, record keeping & data entry, contributing to laboratory organization, maintenance, and inventory management. The responsibilities and expected scientific independence for this position will be determined by the candidate's abilities, with exceptional candidates given more independence in leading projects. If interested, successful candidates will receive mentorship on career paths, such as MD or PhD training.
