The University of Virginia is seeking a Facility Manager for the Division of Student Affairs. The Student Affairs Facility Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating building maintenance, repair, custodial services, grounds, and emergency management of Student Affairs managed facilities. The position works closely with student organizations, university departments, retail units, community representatives, and internal colleagues providing excellent customer service primarily for Newcomb Hall and satellite student activity facilities (e.g., 1515 University Avenue, Runk Green Room, Ern Commons, Student Activities Building, The Forum at O'Hill).
Duties
Particular attention must be given to facility support for university-wide major events (e.g., Final Exercises, Reunions, and Summer/Fall Orientation) and other high-profile activities. Responsibilities include:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: At least four years of experience. Supervision: The position is responsible for training and supervising professional staff working during evening and weekend hours. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Facilities management; supervision experience; customer service engagement; and familiarity with digital and web-based presentation technologies. Individual must be able to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently. Flexible schedule and excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Preferred: Experience with electronic access control systems and design software (e.g., AutoCAD) is preferred. Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated hiring range for this position is $65,000.00 - 80,000.00 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
