Location Designation:Hybrid - 3 days per month

We are currently seeking a Salesforce Developer to join supporting our Salesforce Portfolio within the Field productivity value stream. The value stream is one of 6 within the New York Life's foundational business and consists of 40 plus applications with a portfolio size of $50M.

As a Salesforce Developer, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives. You will work closely with senior developers and business stakeholders to customize and optimize our Salesforce platform while also contributing to broader application development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other Salesforce technologies.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions using both front-end and back-end technologies to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements.
  • Architect and implement Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives and technical best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Salesforce environment to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Optimize the software development lifecycle by identifying and addressing inefficiencies and productivity barriers.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Salesforce applications through continuous improvements, automation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and refine application architectures and infrastructure to improve scalability, security, and performance.
  • Document and maintain technical artifacts to ensure up-to-date records of application states and system configurations.
  • Stay current with the latest Salesforce features, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues to drive innovation and achieve business goals.

Education / Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study is required

Experience

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development and administration.
  • Expertise in Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce Lightning (experience with Lightning Web Components is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, security, and sharing rules.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce integration using REST/SOAP APIs and other integration tools.
  • Experience with declarative development using Flow and Process Builder.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA.
  • Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer I certification is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$82,500-$140,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
