The General Shipper is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments for customers and processing returned shipments to vendors, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately. They resolve discrepancies in shipping and receiving in collaboration with the relevant personnel. Additionally, the General Shipper must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment utilized in any Shipper role to optimize material production while adhering to specified standards and tonnage requirements. This position will support our Adsorbents & Additives business unit in Quincy, FL.

Responsibilities



  • Inspect work area and equipment prior to beginning operations.
  • Operate all equipment according to established procedures to ensure efficient production of a high-quality product while preventing equipment damage.
  • Perform lubrication and minor adjustments to equipment; handle limited maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collect samples for laboratory analysis to ensure product quality.
  • Complete paperwork, conduct workplace examinations, operate Hi-Vac, maintain cleanliness, and handle waste material loading.
  • Undertake any additional tasks assigned by management.
  • Work effectively with co-workers, customers, and others by sharing ideas constructively and positively.
  • Listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others.
  • Keep commitments and ensure transparency by keeping others informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
  • Address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.



Requirements



  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes working with motorized industrial equipment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in high or elevated areas.
  • Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Understand the process and equipment being operated, with thorough knowledge of granular area product specifications.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and adapt to variable sales throughout the year.
  • Able to complete safe work permits, workplace exams, and mobile equipment inspections.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and railcar mover.
