Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Warehouse Associate to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will efficiently and accurately receive, ship and package materials and equipment while maintaining the highest quality and cost efficiency standards possible. Stage and prepare materials and equipment for internal and external installers. Maintain accurate records of transactions through process and computer system. Operate machinery such as fork trucks and hand jacks to move product. Maintain an orderly and clean work environment. Carry out broad assignments including but not limited to equipment maintenance, minor warehouse related repairs, and light assembly of components. On occasion, will need to deliver and or transport equipment to external location and pick up supplies. As a Warehouse Associate, you are a part of a dynamic supply chain team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Inspect, receive or disposition of all material coming into warehouse facility in an expeditious and accurate manner. Items range from small UPS envelopes to crated and or skidded equipment totaling 5,000 pounds.
  • Pick, pack, kit and ship orders in an expeditious manner using the most economical methods and materials that will get them to destination in good condition and on time.
  • Replenish storage shelves for future issues and make effective use of warehouse space
  • Maintenance of warehouse
  • Unload trucks check for and note any physical discrepancies on delivery document and move freight to receiving area.
  • Open shipments, remove goods, sort and inspect goods for concealed damage and discrepancies in quantity or quality.
  • Perform inspections using order documents.
  • Report discrepancies
  • Post receiving information to receiving documents and computer system.
  • Field returns - Identify by part number, verify information on accompanying document, determine requirement by use of reports, terminal, and good judgment.
  • Move material to designated area, print labels and maintain product in correct bin locations. Make effective use of storage space. Considerations - size, shape, weight, and how often part is picked
  • Generate pick and pack slips from computer system. Sort and consolidate pick slips by priority, ship code and destination. Pick and count material per order box and provide label for each. Make note of, or bring to management's attention any errors, discrepancies or questionable data.
  • Consolidate and pack orders in the most economical shipping container and dunnage to provide protection in -transit and meet specific carrier and government requirements.
  • Design and build custom packaging for material that is odd shaped or too large for standard containers. Select and pack order for most economical mode of transportation that will get it to destination when needed.
  • Weigh packages for shipment, post shipping information, freight costs and pick/pack slips data in the computer.
  • Prepare packages and ship international.
  • Communicate with carriers for on time pick-ups, shipping cost estimates, tracing information, and provide to staff or field personnel.
  • Organize shipping area daily as temporary holding area while packages are accumulated to leave facility. Properly communicates all requirements, specifications, etc. to suppliers in a timely and thorough manner, working closely with Engineering, Project Managers, Service Technicians, Installers, Warehouse, Accounting and Quality.
  • Conduct physical inventory when required.
  • Scrap materials as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


What You'll Need



  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years of operating a fork truck, stand-up reach truck and hand truck. If no experience operating a fork truck, must be willing to be trained.
  • Appropriate driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lead project teams and manage cross-functional relationships.

Requirements:

Education: High school degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience:



  • 5+ years of operating a fork truck, stand-up reach truck and hand truck. If no experience operating a fork truck, must be willing to be trained.
