Overview Join AIR as a part-time Indigenous Education Intern with AIR's Education Systems team and be involved in our longstanding legacy of providing rigorous, impartial evidence-based research and resources on pressing and perennial education issues. The intern will support a high-stakes research and policy-focused Indigenous student identification project within the United States. The project requires working with state education agencies in 22 states as well as with national Indigenous education experts and stakeholders to identify needs, priorities, and policy recommendations around Indigenous student identification and success in K-12 public schools. Ideally, the intern will use the knowledge and network they gain through this work for a future career in making positive change in Indian country. The intern will be provided with support to attend the annual National Indian Education Association (NIEA) conference. The ideal candidate has:

The intern hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.This does not include U.S. territories. This Intern position will be part-time capacity internship from January 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025.
