The position will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals throughout the U.S. and will provide leadership and client development specifically in groundwater, compliance, and remediation practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.

Some of the key responsibilities may include:

    Project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Managing projects involving collection of environmental data for the purpose of investigating a site for the presence of contaminants in multi-media;
  • Evaluating and designing remedial alternatives to address site contaminants;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Review and manage written document production;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • Developing client relationships via client interactions in support of project tasks, project meetings, and business development opportunities.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, biology or other related degree. (required)
  • Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.). (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Project experience involving environmental investigation and/or remediation. (required)
  • Experience working on federal projects (e.g., Department of Defense, US EPA) or applicable state environmental projects (e.g., GA EPD HSRA). (preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA or applicable GA environmental regulations. (preferred)
  • Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Proven track record for client management and technical leadership. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
