Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Programmatic Media Consultant to lead key projects for our Digital Media & Operations team within the Media Center of Excellence portfolio. This role will be integral in evolving the organization's ever-growing programmatic operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in programmatic media buying and strong project management skills. Key responsibilities include evaluating current programmatic operations, devising and implementing optimizations, and making recommendations for future growth. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is solution-oriented, works efficiently, is accustomed to driving change, and achieves measurable business results.

Compensation and Length of Engagement:

The Ad Council is seeking an experienced independent contractor to work on a contract basis. We presently anticipate the scope and length of the engagement to be approximately 20 hours per week for 12 weeks with the possibility of extending the contract. The compensation for this position is $104.00 per hour, paid monthly. The independent contractor will receive a 1099 for tax reporting purposes. This is a fully remote position.

What You'll Do:



  • Leverage the power of programmatic media buying to enhance and further evolve Ad Council's hybrid donated/paid media model.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of programmatic processes, purchasing methods, and ad tech relationships to identify program strategies and opportunities, such as supply path optimization and bolstering inventory quality.
  • Conduct in-depth platform reporting and data analysis, with a hands-on approach to leveraging insights to inform recommendations and drive strategic decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and recommend and facilitate introductions to new partners as appropriate.
  • Advise on Ad Council's programmatic administrative processes such as budget forecasting and billing.
  • Recommend and implement operational enhancements and contribute to the strategic vision for long-term programmatic growth at Ad Council.
  • Help advance the organization's Inclusive Media program by evaluating current partners and scaling marketplace investment towards diverse-owned media publishers and ad tech companies.
  • Leverage your extensive industry knowledge to identify pro bono or "low-bono" ad tech and inventory opportunities within the programmatic ecosystem.


What You Bring:



  • 10+ years of experience in the programmatic media buying space.
  • Proven leadership experience at a media agency or ad tech company.
  • Proficiency with DSP platforms such as The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, Vistar, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of programmatic management best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of the marketing and ad tech landscape, data privacy regulations, and industry standards and trends.
  • Apply a test-and-learn mindset to all tasks.
  • Process-obsessed, but open to optimizing and iterating.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality, accurate results.
  • Excellent project management, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • A deep understanding, appreciation, and enthusiasm for DEI initiatives.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff
