What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Staff Engineer in the Little Rock, AR office to perform various activities related to environmental consulting. You will be a quick learner, motivated, eager to learn, embrace teamwork, and have the desire to develop professionally. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on civil/environmental services, landfills and landfill infrastructure, and other projects that may require design, engineering, permitting, construction and operations support.

How you can make an impact

Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.

Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations
Makes decisions independently based on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinates work, and represent SCS at meetings and conferences.
Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, etc.
Office-based tasks including: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Travel (day trips or overnight, 20% of travel expected): Varies, most of the initial effort will be in the Wichita area on a daily basis. Occasional overnight travel will be expected to other areas of Kansas and Oklahoma, typically.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or related engineering major required.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
Professional Engineering license or progress toward a professional engineering license (i.e. E.I.T certification) preferred
Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is ideal.
Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range

USD $68,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
