WHAT TO EXPECT

Gates has an exciting opportunity for a Commodity Manager - Indirect who will be located in our Denver office. This position will be directly involved with planning, directing, and monitoring all sourcing activities of materials and services that Gates sources to satisfy expected standards of reliability, timing, and cost. In this role you will also;
  • Develop commodity strategies to support business initiatives.
  • Be responsible for negotiating cost and terms with suppliers and ensure the supply base possesses adequate capacity to support Gates' demand.
  • Optimize total cost and maintain a robust funnel of initiatives; responsible for the performance of suppliers within assigned categories.
Key responsibilities:
  • Establishing and implementing strategies while leading sourcing activities (e-sourcing events, negotiations, data analysis, projects, contract lifecycle management, supplier development and selection, data management, etc.) to optimize costs, working capital, and payment terms; and minimize financial and operational risk.
  • Assuring material flow of assigned categories into respective Gates sites.
  • Being responsible for and overseeing supplier performance, capacity, and aiding in the development of poor performing suppliers.
  • Implementing and maintaining KPIs to monitor and improve performance of managed supply base.
  • Conducting recurring business reviews with assigned suppliers.
  • Ensuring suppliers are compliant to Gates's supply agreements and requirements.
  • Building stakeholder alignment to support initiatives.
ABOUT YOU
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent analytical and project management capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent negotiating capability
  • Ability to collaborate and influence with internal & external clients
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/supply chain systems
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • CPSM (ISM) or CSCP (APICS) certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
PAY & BENEFITS
  • Full-Time: $82,440 - $98,928
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
