The Researcher 2:

Designs, supports, and conducts bench research in immunology and womens health in the Department of Anesthesiology;

collaborates with Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage and implement research projects; plans, designs, and conducts complex and advanced scientific experiments;

performs complex molecular biological and biochemical procedures specializing and provides technical expertise in research methodologies and techniques for assigned projects, including ELISA, WB, FACS, transcriptomics, immunohistochemisty, immunofluorescence, microdissection of reproductive tissue in human and animals;

performs and troubleshoots animal studies; develops and implements new and/or revised research methods and techniques;

collaborates with PI in developing goals of projects; compiles research findings for inclusion in grant proposals and publications;

plans and writes manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in scientific journals;

attends and presents research results at national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars;

participates in writing IACUC, IRB, IBC protocols, and TCP plans;

actively contributes to developing, writing, editing and critiquing all research grant proposals;

administers and oversees grant budget and approves related expenditures; functions as Laboratory Manager overseeing and managing daily operations and activities of laboratory;

participate in training junior researchers, residents, graduate and undergraduate students, and research staff;

provides training in laboratory specific operations, biohazard regulations and laboratory safety methods and/or techniques;

oversees and ensures appropriate maintenance of all laboratory equipment;

negotiates and oversees equipment service contracts and repairs;

order oversees and monitors animal colonies; prepares information for annual research reports, runs and monitors OSU financial reports and tracks related expenses; other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree or equivalent experience required; PhD preferred. 4-5 years of relevant experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
