Job Title: Flake Operator-2nd shift

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Flake Operator is responsible for producing high-quality flake materials by operating mills, washing, decanting, and drying processes. This role requires ensuring that all materials remain free of contamination and that traceability is maintained throughout production. The Flake Operator will adhere to safety protocols, process procedures, and quality standards to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Mill Operation:



    • Load and unload mills to produce flake materials according to process specifications.



  • Material Washing & Decanting:



    • Wash and decant flake materials to remove any impurities or contaminants, ensuring they meet product quality requirements.



  • Drying Process:



    • Operate drying equipment to properly dry the flake materials, ensuring they are prepared for the next stage of production or shipment.



  • Contamination Control:



    • Ensure materials remain free from contamination throughout the entire production process by following proper handling and cleanliness procedures.



  • Traceability & Documentation:



    • Maintain accurate records of material batches to ensure traceability from raw material to final product, documenting all production activities in logs and databases.



  • Quality Control:



    • Inspect materials at various stages of production to ensure they meet defined quality standards and report any deviations or issues.



  • Equipment Maintenance:



    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of mills, washing, and drying equipment to ensure they operate efficiently and minimize downtime.



  • Safety Compliance:



    • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe work environment.



  • Process Improvement:



    • Identify and suggest improvements to the production process that can enhance efficiency, safety, or product quality.




Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or experience in manufacturing or process operations is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with material handling, milling, or drying processes in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail to prevent contamination and ensure proper material traceability.
  • Basic understanding of production equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and work within defined quality and safety standards.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other operators and supervisors.
