Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPQS) - Health Data InnovationJob Description: Responsibilities The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the oversight of systems within a sub-unit of the Office of Science and Technology, Office of Public Health, providing technical supervision and full comprehension of information technology systems and services, architecture/administration, middleware support, platform infrastructure support, ongoing maintenance, updates of application system architecture, systems research and implementation of new platform and infrastructure systems to support the ELC - COVID-19 Enhancing Detection Non-lab grant. The incumbent will provide strong technical skills and some supervision to staff engaged in supporting the Health Commerce System infrastructure. The incumbent will collaborate in architecture and design discussion and implementation for adding emerging technologies to existing systems as requested by the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness, local health departments and health care facilities. The incumbent in this position will be required to occasionally work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays to remedy critical issues and promote continuity and availability of critical systems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, or a related field and four years of computer systems administration experience; OR an Associate's degree and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Linux specifically CentOS based Operating Systems. Experience installing, configuring, and patching kernel and other Linux services. Experience with scripting (Bash/Terraform/cloudformation) for automating infrastructure tasks. Experience with application hosting using Tomcat and Weblogic servers. Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining high availability for applications. Experience working with Cloud platforms like AWS. Experience with EC2, S3, VPC, ELB, EFS, Route 53 to help application hosting on cloud platforms. Experience with log aggregation and log management with tools like Splunk, Opensearch and Cloudwatch. Experience monitoring and troubleshooting application failures across infrastructure. Experience with continuous integration and delivery utilizing tools like Git, Jenkins. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
