Japanese Bilingual Sales Representative (Japanese Foods)
Location: East Los Angeles, CA (Onsite)
Classified: Exempt
Overview:
As a Sales Representative for Japanese Foods, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and building strong relationships within customers in the Los Angeles and Southern California area, specifically targeting grocery stores and restaurants (retails and food services). You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a customer base, conducting sales presentations, and staying up-to-date on market trends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:
* Identify new business opportunities and cultivate existing customer relationships.
* Generate new business by prospecting and cold calling grocery stores and restaurants.
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors to ensure a smooth sales process.
* Prepare and deliver effective presentations and demonstrations of diverse range of products including new items to showcase them for customers.
* Conduct ongoing research to stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
* Travel to attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings, including weekends as needed.
* Monitor customer invoices and credits to ensure accurate and timely processing.
* Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
* Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bilingual in English and Japanese (reading, writing and speaking).
* 2+ years of experience in sales or a related field, preferably within the food industry; or Strong aptitude for a sales role, with a passion for the Japanese food industry if no industry or sales experience.
* College degree or equivalent work experience.
* Strong database management skills and experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with Asian food culture.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Customer-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel for business purposes, including weekends.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
