Operations Research Analyst, Lead

The Opportunity:

As an Operations Research Analyst, you're passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need a seasoned Research Analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our modeling and simulation team, you'll lead the evaluation of data assessment strategies such as sampling, statistical analysis, time series forecasting, or flow processing to deliver solutions.

You won't go at it alone, you'll guide a team to conduct research, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data such as data sampling, latency models, and what-if analysis. Once documented, you'll oversee the development of briefings to present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and hold various program meetings to improve program efficiency.

In this role, you'll share your passion for analytics and statistics to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques such as linear programming, and simulation, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.

Use your high-level operations research expertise to develop technologies and concepts that advance modeling and simulation for the DoD.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques

  • 4+ years of experience with the application of modeling and simulation to Decision Analysis problems

  • 4+ years of experience with the application of modeling and simulation to Cost and Benefit Analysis problems

  • 4+ years of experience with PANDAS, R, Excel and VBA, ARENA, OCTAVE, Tableau, Gurobi and CPLEX, EXTENDSIM, SAS, NETICA, stats models, Stata, MATLAB, or SPSS

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with performing validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy, or determine the need for reformulation

  • Experience developing training materials in Operations Research techniques such as optimization and simulation

  • Experience gathering modeling requirements from stakeholders

  • Experience preparing reports of modeling approach and results, and briefing modeling results to stakeholders

  • Master's degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
