What You'll do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a resilient and scalable platform architecture.

  • Keep Systems running smoothly and securely
  • Serve as the team's expert and owner for all things systems administration
  • Operating system patching

    Security hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting

  • Be the first line of defense against a variety of threats to the uptime of your servers
  • Proactively keep things safe and secure through implementation of best practices
  • Follow monitoring alerts and log messages to the source of trouble
  • Triage outages and work with team to understand issues and how to fix them
  • Ability to understand objectives, interpret them, and translate that to a coherent technical vision.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and deployment of platform components, services, and applications.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to optimize platform performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure that best practices are followed during design, development, and delivery of projects.
  • Configure and maintain servers including monitoring and configuration management
  • Work with IT teams to coordinate changes and troubleshoot intersystem problems
  • Administer enterprise Linux servers

Who we are looking for:

We're looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer/Systems Administrator to design, implement, and maintain a resilient and scalable platform architecture. In this role, you'll ensure the security, performance, and uptime of Linux server environments, troubleshoot issues, and automate repetitive tasks. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance and support mission-critical applications and services.

The ideal candidate will have experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), system hardening, and automation (Ansible, Python). This is an on-site role in Washington, DC, requiring active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with eligibly to hold SCI
  • Willing to be on-site in Washington DC location 4-5 days a week
  • Proven expertise in systems administration, platform architecture, and infrastructure management (years of experience may vary)
  • Experience supporting Linux server environments
  • Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift or other container experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot server hardware failures
  • Applied knowledge in operating system security and hardening
  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks using Ansible, Python, or similar language
  • Experience with patch and configuration management
  • Experience in an enterprise production environment
  • Exposure to the operation and configuration of database and web server technologies
  • Experience working in a DevOps Environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using UiPath, Python or other tools (puppet, ansible, chef) for automation
  • Experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

RPA Associate (UiRPA) - Preferred - UiPath

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$149,871.00 - $205,279.00
