The selected candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in either the HS Clinical or Clinical X career tracks at UCSF, depending on qualifications and interests. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology and hold/be eligible for a California medical license. Subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Pathology and/or Hematopathology is desirable. As a Pediatric Pathologist at BCH Oakland, you will be expected to share responsibility for diagnostic activities in Anatomic Pathology, Hematopathology, and/or the Clinical Laboratory as well as on-call coverage and conference support with other members of the department faculty. Sign-out responsibilities for Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology, including the entire spectrum of leukemia and hematologic disorders, will be a primary focus. Clinical laboratory responsibilities could include providing leadership to Clinical Laboratory Sections at BCH Oakland, such as Flow Cytometry, Immunology, Microbiology, or Point of Care Testing. You will be working with staff in the laboratory to ensure procedures for clinical testing are appropriate and meet accreditation requirements. You will also work with other UCSF faculty at BCH Oakland and San Francisco sites (Parnassus, Mission Bay) to implement the academic mission of Laboratory Medicine, which includes support of translational research and training of Pathology/Laboratory Medicine residents.
