Primary Function

Provides support in all Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) functions and coordinates plant wide safety and environmental efforts and compliance for Florence, KY and may support additional sites as needed. Responsibilities may include but not limited to EHSS specific projects, program implementation, audits, training, compliance, risk assessments, worker's compensation, and EHSS systems administration.

Responsibilities
  • Assist management with the annual plant budget for EHSS
  • Responsible for engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of environmental engineering and ISO 14001 standards
  • Lead Environmental permitting and compliance regarding Title V, Wastewater, Storm Water, Universal Waste, Hazardous Waste, and Emergency Planning & Community Right-to-Know (Form R and Tier II)
  • Lead Federal, State, and Local/Municipal inspections and investigations
  • Lead and monitor environmental improvement programs/projects (ESG) and initiatives
  • Partner with site leadership on Global EHSS standards and initiatives
  • Lead EHSS safety initiatives, required safety training, safety coaching, and security functions at Florence, KY and may support additional sites as needed
  • Manage EHSS through ISO-based management platform and reporting tools
  • Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, job hazard analysis, incident investigations, workplace observations, and ensure safety equipment is maintained
  • Align site EHSS objectives with business goals
  • Assist with Company-wide programs such as drug testing and safety awards
  • Report on safety performance to Corporate EHSS Director and plant management
  • Coach/Supervise indirect reports (EHSS Committee)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS related degree
  • 3-5 years related work experience
  • Certified Safety Professional certification strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.) Good general problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Moderate project management- Safety meetings, Safety committees, Leadership meetings, ISO program, Safety celebrations/milestones
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
