The LloydGreifCenter for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, seeks experienced applicants for positions as (1) Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Entrepreneurship and (2) Associate or Full Professor of the Practice. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with >5 years of successful experience as a founder or investor and >3 years of successful teaching entrepreneurship as a university instructor, having acquired skills and knowledge with significant educational value.The typical annual teaching load for the position is equivalent to six courses per year, with course releases available annually for substantive service supporting our co-curricular entrepreneurship programming. The job represents a full-time, multi-year academic appointment that is renewable. The position will commence in August 2025.

In addition to offering courses in the Marshall School's undergraduate and MBA programs, we offer specialized graduate degree programs in entrepreneurship and innovation (MSEI) and in social entrepreneurship (MSSE).

Preferred qualifications for a professor of the practice (associate or full levels) position include:

  • More than five years of distinctive professional experience as founders or in senior leadership roles related to new technologies and related new ventures, startup investment, and entrepreneurship through acquisition.
  • A master's or equivalent degree in a business-related field.
  • Superior communication and teaching skills, with demonstrated excellence in teaching entrepreneurship courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Preferred qualifications for a clinical entrepreneurship professor (associate or full levels) position include:

  • More than six years of entrepreneurship teaching experience, ideally related to new technologies and related new ventures, startup investment, and entrepreneurship through acquisition.
  • A terminal degree in a business-related field.

Superior communication and teaching skills, with demonstrated excellence in teaching entrepreneurship courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Salary is dependent on qualifications, and employee benefits for full-time faculty are excellent, including tuition assistance for qualifying children and spouses at USC and other participating universities. The annual base salary range for this position is $125,900-$258,752. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations. The initial contract length ranges from two to four years based on rank, with the strong expectation that the contract will be renewed if performance expectations are met or exceeded.
