Job Description

Data Axle provides data, applications, and services that help organizations make and save money. Our commitment to accuracy, service and innovation drive customer acquisition, retention, and product enhancement. We are currently seeking an Manager, Credit & Collections.

This position is responsible for managing a team of associates in the efficient daily operations of the credit department and collections of unpaid balances on delinquent accounts.

Essential Job Functions:



  1. Develop systems and procedures to establish credit limits for customers and to control potential credit losses.
  2. Review and approve letters sent to clients to resolve payment issues.
  3. Review billing issues escalated by staff and resolve as appropriate.
  4. Establish collection policies and procedures. Train staff as necessary.
  5. Interview, hire, and counsel direct report employees. Delegate activities to appointed subordinates.
  6. Ensure that responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all subordinates are defined and understood.
  7. Manage preparation of documents to substantiate credit determination.
  8. Update credit files on existing customers.
  9. Resolve credit issues through the effective management of department staff.
  10. Create and update reports on credit related issues.
  11. Manage all staff personnel related issues, including scheduling, attendance, reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  12. Implement policies to reduce overall delinquency.
  13. Negotiate payment plans on delinquent accounts.
  14. Oversee the tracking of payments to ensure that all payment plans are paid per the terms of the agreement.

  1. Maintain current knowledge on credit regulations.
  2. Make escalated credit phone calls as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:



  1. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the company in an articulate, professional manner, while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  2. Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  3. Ability to anticipate and quickly react in a dynamic business environment.
  4. Detailed knowledge of credit collection laws.
  5. Ability to understand needs of a multi-company environment.
  6. Skill in identifying and resolving problems.
  7. Ability to successfully manage and motivate staff.



Education, Experience, and Certification:



  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.*
  2. 3 to 5 years previous relevant work experience is required.*
