The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Neurological Surgery, is seeking a Functional Fellow Instructor. Candidate must have completed Neurosurgical Residency.
As a Functional Fellow Instructor in Neurosurgery, the role will be at the forefront of neurosurgical advancements. Responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with the neurosurgeons in Neurological Surgery: Work closely to assist in complex surgeries, gaining hands-on experience and refining surgical skills.
2. Patient assessment and diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with neurological disorders, helping to determine the most appropriate surgical interventions.
3. Surgical procedures: Participate in a wide range of neurosurgical procedures, such as deep brain stimulation, epilepsy surgery, and neuromodulation, playing a vital role in the surgical team.
4. Research and innovation: Engage in ongoing research projects, contributing to the development of new techniques and therapies in functional neurosurgery.
5. Patient care and follow-up: Provide post-operative care, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
6. Education and training: Share knowledge with residents and medical students, helping to shape the next generation of neurosurgeons.
