Job Summary: The Pharmacist - Clinical Strategy Pharmacy Execution is a high-functioning individual contributor role responsible for providing direct support to the Pharmacy Clinical Strategy team to support and facilitate the creation, implementation, and execution of pharmacy clinical strategy. Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the implementation and execution of the Clinical Strategy, Formulary Strategy, Pharmacy Benefit Design and Testing, and Medical Drug team initiatives and projects for all CareSource markets and products
- Monitor and report on projects being supported
- Assess market trends and competitors to identify threats and opportunities and feed data to Pharmacy Clinical Strategy team leadership for future initiatives
- Assist with research, development, implementation, and quality checks of clinical policy and clinical decision-making tools use by CareSource teams
- Support the implementation of cost-effective formularies to drive best clinical practice
- Support the development of pharmacy and medical benefit design best practices and testing strategies
- Aid in both PBM and medical drug claims oversight processes
- Support the development and implementation of quality and affordability initiatives to improve clinical outcomes while controlling the total cost of care
- Identify processes that improve pharmacy clinical strategy effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage
- Support the documentation of policies, procedures, and workflow documentation
- Perform any other job related instructions as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required; Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) is preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in at least one of the following required: clinical pharmacy (evidence based medicine and literature evaluation, drug criteria development, drug pipeline), formulary development and strategy, pharmacy benefit design and configuration, and medical drug management
- A minimum of two (2) years of managed care experience required. Medicare, Marketplace, or Medicaid lines of business experience is preferred
- Experience in clinical drug analysis, formulary management, medical drug management, benefit configuration, claims oversight, and testing preferred
- Project management and process mapping experience is preferred

- Strong clinical expertise and healthcare administration understanding
- Knowledge of PBM and medical drug claims workflow and processing applications
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills/proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, search engines, and bibliographic software
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex healthcare data and literature

- Ability to interface and collaborate with employees at all levels
Licensure and Certification:
- Unrestricted registered pharmacist (RPh) Licensure in state of practice is required
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range: $92,300.00 - $161,600.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
